Three Types of Performance Energy that…

will help you tremendously the next time you step on stage.

Most artists are so involved in their craft, they often forget to take care of themselves. They “forget” to eat all day and wonder why they don’t sound great in the practice room! They’re so stressed with the amount of demands on their schedule it simply seems to get harder rather than easier! Today on the podcast We’re going to talk about the 3 types performance energy…

Physical, Mental and Emotional.

Physical energy is…

an obvious one. When you only got 4 hours of sleep and all you’ve been consuming is coffee and hot air, you’re bound to be running on E. So how can we take action. If I simply told you what to eat and how to workout you wouldn’t necessarily make the change. The most important thing is to not only make a commitment, but to plan your meals ahead. If nothing is prepped at home and you finish rehearsal at 9:30 at night, it’s much easier to make a poor decision!

Mental energy is…

something that most creatives overlook while our minds are the ones that need the most clarity. I can’t tell you how many times I’m just about to fall asleep and my mind starts racing with all these creative ideas! This is usually because I’ve been too cognitively overworked and I haven’t had an outlet! In the podcast I give some ideas about how to slow the monkey mind, and why mental energy has way more power over physical energy.

Emotional energy is…

what most people roll their eyes at while it is truly the most important. We can all remember a time where maybe it was a hard piece we we’re working on, or maybe we we’re waiting for acceptance to a university, or any type of exciting anticipation. Before we were aware of what was about to happen, we we’re just hanging out. No special feelings, no extra energy. All of a sudden…bam! Adrenaline starts rushing and dopamine starts flowing and we’re ready to rock! A complete 180 degree shift physically from and emotional event!

Imagine if we could tap into this emotional state every time we step on stage…
