Burnout

When tired doesn’t seem to describe it…

burnout may be more appropriate. Many people of all walks of life have experienced overwhelm to the next level

Burning the candle at both ends…

Wearing too many hats…

However you want to describe it, when you’re truly overwhelmed it could lead to the next step which of course is burnout. Burnout is when not only one or two things drop, but all things drop. Drop off your schedule and drop from your heart…

Some tell tale signs of burnout is when you might be feeling alone, depressed, hopeless, or even irritable. You may even show physical symptoms such as loss of appetite, lack of sleep, or forgetfulness.

This episode today is about my recent experience with total overwhelm and how I’m currently overcoming it! What makes my case interesting is because it was masked by the most incredible experience of my life…my wedding!

In this episode, we’ll talk about…

  • Signs of burnout for creatives and professionals alike
  • How to navigate this situation
  • 3 simple steps to get back on the horse
  • The most important thing to remember when you or someone else is facing burnout.

Sometimes for musicians it can be tricky. Not only do we love what we do, but often times we’re over achievers. With that being said, it can creep up on us without even knowing it. Remember too much of anything (even a good thing) is not a long term strategy.
